The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) holds its National Convention where the candidacy of President Muhammadu for 2019 presidential election will be ratified tomorrow (Saturday), October 6, 2018.

Penultimate Friday, the APC conducted direct presidential primary which enabled all card-carrying members of the party across the 36 states, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to vote for his candidacy.

The overall result of the primary being collated in piecemeal across the country is expected to be announced tomorrow.

Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State, who spoke yesterday on the outcome of the presidential primary in his State, expressed readiness to attend tomorrow’s national convention.

“Last Saturday, the APC National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, inaugurated a 21-member National Convention Committee headed by Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State.

The committee has Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State as Vice Chairman and Hadiza Bala Usman as Secretary.

Other members are Babatunde Fashola, Audu Ogbeh, Nasiru El-Rufai, Rochas Okorocha, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar; Godwin Obaseki; Simon Lalong, Ekiti State APC Governor-elect, Kayode Fayemi, Sen. Godswill Akpabio; Sen. Emma Anosike, Hajiya Hauwa Sule, Timipre Sylva, Barr. Sharon Ikeazor, Dr Ramatu Aliyu Tijani, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Hon. Stella Okotete and Mrs Paulen Tallen.

Speaking during the inauguration, Comrade Oshiomhole said the National Convention scheduled for October 6, 2018 would not only be used to ratify the election of President

Ajimobi, in his acceptance remarks, promised to work as partners in securing victories  for the APC in 2019.

The APC had earlier scheduled to hold nationwide Local Government Area (LGA) Congresses to elect delegates to the National Convention in a notice sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
