The Lagos state Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has addressed the state following his defeat in Tuesday’s primary. In his address, he congratulated his rival Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other members of the party.


Ambode lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary to Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who was the anointed aspirant of the party’s National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Sanwo-Olu polled 970, 851 votes while he had 72, 901 votes.

In his short address on Wednesday, the Governor congratulated Sanwo-Olu, thanked APC Chieftain, Tinubu and the elders of the party.

He also promised to ensure a smooth transition and work with the party while still in office.
