Do you feel tired throughout the day due to lack of sleep? Various factors affect the quality of your sleep, and this could result in a sleepless night.

We all know how annoying it can be, just laying on your bed unable to sleep, knowing fully well you need all the rest you can get, changing your sleeping schedule can solve this problem.

Certain habits affect the quality of sleep, and indulging in them keeps you up all night.

Without proper rest, you wake up tired than you were before, plus you get to drag yourself to make it through the day, which is no fun.

that’s why today, I will be sharing some reasons you don’t get the proper rest you need while trying to sleep.

  • You Go Hungry To Bed

Overeating food before bed gives your body loads of work to do, but sleeping hungry is not the better option.

Sleeping hungry doesn’t improve the quality of your sleep; you sleep poorly and end up dreaming about food. So the best option is to ensure you are adequately fed before bed.

  • Taking A Nap During The Day

For a while, I noticed that on days I took naps, I found it hard falling asleep; I don’t know who else experiences this too?

Taking naps during the day tends to reduce the quality of your sleep at night. Studies have shown that healthy adults don’t need to nap during the day, as it can worsen their sleep quality.

Breakfast can also affect your sleep quality. Taking breakfast turns your biological clock on and counts the time before night sleep.

They also regulate metabolism; skipping breakfast causes your brain to release stress hormones which can cause insomnia.

The appearance of your room can also affect your sleep quality.

The mess in your room influences your subconsciousness, and studies have shown that a chaotic room can give you a chaotic sleep.

Try to ensure your room is clean and well-arranged at all times, and falling asleep will become easier.

  • The Room Is Too Hot

A high room temperature decreases the quality of your sleep.

With excellent weather, falling asleep comes more accessible and faster, plus you get to enjoy deep sleep, which leaves you feeling refreshed in the morning.

In as much as everyone has their favorite sleeping position, there are good and bad ones. You get better sleep.

Laying on your side or back, laying on your stomach, doesn’t relax your spinal cord and muscles.

Instead, what you get is a pressed chest and breathing difficulty. Falling asleep in such a position can be pretty tricky.

Consuming sugar before bed keeps your brain active.

Sugar is like food for the brain, and when you consume sweets or chocolate, which is high in caffeine, your brain becomes active at night, making sleep impossible.
