She is a Cuban-born American singer, songwriter, and actress who rose to fame for being a member of the girl group “Fifth Harmony” before establishing a solo career.

Karla Camila Cabello Estrabao known professionally as Camila Cabello, was born March 3, 1997 in Cojímar, Havana, Cuba.

Her parents are Sinuhe Estrabao and Alejandro Cabello, a Mexican who moved to Cuba. Growing up, Camila grew up between Havana and Mexico.

Cabello’s family relocated to Miami, Florida, U.S, when she was six, where she attended the Miami Palmetto High School but dropped out at 9th grade to pursue her singing career.

She later went back for her high school diploma and acquired American citizenship in 2008.

Camila’s career as a singer began officially after auditioning for “The X Factor” TV talent show in Greensboro, North Carolina.

However, her audition was not aired, as the series failed to get rights for the songs used.

After the boot camp, she was called back to the stage alongside Ally Brooke, Normani, Lauren Jauregui, and Dinah Jane, who were also contestants, to form the girls’ group later known as “Fifth Harmony.”

Camila finished third place on the talent show and was signed on a joint deal alongside the other girl group members under “Syco Music,” owned by Simon Cowell and Epic Records, L.A. Reid’s record label.

The girls’ group, later known as “Fifth Harmony,” released their debut EP “Better Together” in 2013, and later on a studio album titled “Reflection” in 2015.

Their studio album’s single “Worth It” soon became a hit, ranking in the top ten in several international charts.

In 2016, their second album, 7/27, was released with hit songs like “Work,” which soon became a global hit.

In 2015, Camila collaborated with Shawn Mended in the duet “I Know What You Did Last Summer.”
