Her fans know her as Mama G or G for General, but her real name is Patience Ozokwor, and she was born on the 14th of September 1958 in a village called “Amaobo” in Enugu State.
She undertook her primary school education at Abimbola Gibson Memorial School in Lagos. She later attended Methodist Girls School, located in Yaba, Lagos, to pursue her secondary education.
Patience discovered her acting prowess in school as she participated in the school’s dramas and plays. This was something that she had a strong interest in at the time.
After completing her secondary school education, she was admitted to the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), located in Enugu State. She majored in Fine and Applied Arts before graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Early Career
After completing her university education, Patience didn’t immediately jump into acting; instead, she worked at radio and television stations at the time. She worked with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), where she appeared on a soap opera called “Someone Cares”.

She also worked at Radio Nigeria, gaining various experiences in broadcasting before transitioning into acting, a career that would profoundly change her life.

In the 1990s, Patience began to play roles in various movies. However, what brought her stardom was a part that she played in a film called “Authority”. This role, coupled with her previous appearances on NTA, was what led to her gaining the attention of people.
Spanning from the 1990s to 2025, she has acted in more than 200 movies to date, establishing herself as one of the most accomplished and talented actors in the industry.
