Peter “Finn” Wittrock Jr. was born October 28, 1984, in Lenox, Massachusetts.

His father, Peter L. Wittrock, is an actor, while his mother, Kate Claire Crowley, is a professor of occupational therapy at the University of Southern California.

Growing up, Finn spent much time at the Shakespeare & company theatre due to his father’s profession as an actor, which influenced his career choice later on.

As a child, he often acted as a pageboy or messenger in plays; he attended the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, where he joined the drama department and often performed and made films.

Finn was accepted into The Juilliard School but turned down the offer to pursue an acting career in Los Angeles.

However, after an unsuccessful attempt to secure movie roles as an actor, he auditioned for Juilliard again and got accepted.

While in school, he joined the drama division’s Group 37 from 2004 to 2008, where he participated in several theatrical productions; before leaving the school, he was awarded the “Juilliard Journal Award” for his contributions to ‘The Juilliard Journal.
