Dumebi Kachikwu was born into a notable family in Delta state back in the early 1970s to Mr Justice Francis Okafor Kachikwu and Barrister (Mrs) Josephine Ada Kachikwu. His family was not your average Nigerian family at the time, as they were known for their love and passion for education.

Despite the fact that everything was looking good on the outside for Dumebi, he was facing a lot of challenges within his party.
Unfortunately, in September 2022, he was suspended from the party. Most of the party members accused him of engaging in activities that would hinder the party’s progress.
It was not long after this suspension that he was eventually expelled from the party because he didn’t make his campaign plans clear, and also because of his failure to adhere to the party’s constitution (all these are alleged).

Something different about Dumebi is that he makes his mind known about political issues, especially those related to national matters, and he does this without fear.
In the aspect of power rotation regarding the segment of the nation that will rule the country, he believes that it should be fair, and not just one particular tribe or region should always hold the position.
Dumebi does not only focus on politics, but he also has his personal views on the nation’s economic state. There was a time when he criticized the approach that Nigerians use when selling crude oil, pointing out that their method does not favour the local refineries in the country.

So far, Dumebi has gotten married twice. His first wife, Somachi Chikwe, was the daughter of Kema Chikwe, a renowned politician. Unfortunately, they divorced due to certain circumstances.
It was not long after the divorce that he married Ikeme Kachikwu, and at present, they have six children together, two daughters and four sons.
