Even though Nigerians and audiences all over the world know him as Gaise Baba, his real name is Akinade Ibuoye. He was born on the 5th of August, 1986, in Ekiti State, Nigeria. His father worked as a lawyer, and his mother was a devout Christian who instilled different Christian virtues into him right from a young age.

He undertook his primary and secondary school education in the city of Lagos, after which he got admission into Obafemi Awolowo University to study Economics. After his graduation, he decided to explore the field of music by taking a music business course at a college in the United States named Berklee College of Music. His decision to take this course was what helped him understand the business side of music.
Career
Right from a very young age, Gaise Baba had always aspired to become a lawyer just like his father. Music was not a career option for him, even though he loved it. However, when he finished his secondary school education, he started writing his songs.

He continued writing songs during his university days and his time as an NYSC corps member. After his NYSC, he signed up with Sanctified Records to start his music career properly. The first break he had in his career took place in 2011 when he released his first album “Gaise Baba” with the hit song “Follow Follow”. This album brought him fame, and a lot of people started to reckon with his music.

Gaise Baba’s style of music was different. He combined gospel and afrobeat, making other people online to fing it difficult to categorize his music. His music was not too religious and was not too modern. It was just simple and unique in its way.
