This action put a strain on their relationship, and a settlement was eventually reached between them with a written apology offered by his parent.
It was reported that he was mending his relationship with his parents before his death in 2020.

‘Gossip Gir’ actress Leighton Meester sued her mother for using the $7 500 she sends every month for the care of her brother, who suffers severe medical issues for her plastic surgeries in 2011.
According to the actress, her brother’s health care was neglected, while the money met for his health care was used by her mom for botox, hair extension, and plastic surgery which led to her carrying out the lawsuit against her mother.
Her mom, in response, filed a countersuit alleging that the money sent for her son’s health wasn’t enough and demanded more money for both herself and that of her son. However, the countersuit was not favored.
- Billy Unger
Billy Unger started as a teen actor with his dad as his manager. The Disney actor later filed a lawsuit against his dad for mishandling $400,000 of his earning.
According to the Disney actor, his father spent $120 000 to take his girlfriend on vacation, $6 000 for her rent, and a $1 million life insurance policy on Billy s life with his dad listed as the only beneficiary. His dad was having a good time with Billy’s earning.
In response to the lawsuit, his dad claimed that Billy was being influenced by a hostile force, who is out to destroy their relationship.
- LeAnn Rimes
American singer LeAnn Rimes rose to fame at 13, with her dad being her manager. In 2000 she sued her dad for allegedly stealing $7 million, which was 30% of her income.

Her dad decided to get greedy with her money by converting them to his, although not in a subtle way, he let his monetary love get ahead of him.
- Rihanna
American singer Rihanna already had a ‘Not so Good’ relationship with her dad before suing him in 2019 for soliciting businesses for himself using her trademark name.
She alleged that her father created an entertainment company and posed as her representative, booking concerts and tour worth over $15 million in her name, and the singer was having none of that.
- Macaulay Culkin
‘Home Alone’ was a huge success making actor Macaulay Culkin worth $ 17 million.
A few years later, his parent got divorced, and a severe custody battle ensued between the parent on who gets to go with Macaulay Culkin and his wealth. Culkin decided to take the issue into his own hands by suing and removing his parents from being his legal guardians.
He disclosed that his action was that he was being overworked by his father at a young age and needed a break from the entertainment world.
