Angela Sue Unkrich was born on February 4, 1981, in Henry County, Iowa. She was raised by her parents, Stanley and Valerie, and grew up with her two brothers on a hog and cattle farm.
She undertook her high school education at Waco High School, located in Wayland. In high school, she took her academics seriously and also engaged in extracurricular and sports activities.
After high school, she was admitted to Northwestern University. It was at this college that she studied Communication Studies and later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. During her university days, she was elected as the vice president of the National Honour Society.
