The name of the man who was once named.” The Ugliest Person In The World” is Godfrey Baguma. Godfrey Baguma, also known as “Ssebabi”, which means “The Ugliest of All”, was born on May 16th 1973, in Kyanzana, located in the Luengo District in Uganda. After his birth, he started developing a strange health condition which had a negative impact on his face. This caused him to be neglected by his mother.
After his mother left him at birth, his grandmother made a personal choice to raise him as his son. Godfrey Baguma had a challenging childhood during his early years. He was unable to interact and play with other children and was not allowed to go outside to socialise with others.
For a very long time, Godfrey went to different hospitals. Despite this, most doctors were unable to diagnose his condition accurately. After he was taken to various hospitals in Uganda, he was eventually diagnosed with “fibrodysplasia”, which is a condition that causes tissues in the body to turn into bone.

In 2002, Baguma joined a contest named “Mr. Ugly”, which was conducted to know the ugliest person in the area. He engaged in the show and emerged as the winner. This contest served as a turning point in his life and eventually brought him to the spotlight.

Godfrey Baguma’s Career
Godfrey Baguma was able to use his fame to his advantage. He had a talent for singing, and he decided to improve on it. He started composing and singing different songs in the Ugandan language. In 2014, one of his songs, named “Abagala Ssebabi”, attracted up to 13 million views when it was uploaded on YouTube.
