Police stopped a robbery attempt in Lagos.
Lagos police command, public relations officer, DSP Bala Elkan said a bank employee made a distress call at access bank, along Egbe Road Ejigbo on the 9th of August 2019, around 09:45am.
It was reported their were armed robbers operating outside the bank.
DSP Elkan said a patrol team was deployed to reinforce the police officers on guard duty at the bank.
On arrival of the patrol team, the armed robbers engaged the officers in a gun battle.
The armed robbers were overpowered and chased up to Egbe area where their ring leader was arrested after he had sustained bullet wounds but others escaped.
One Brownie pistol with one live ammunition was recovered from the suspect.
The sum of N250, 000 earlier snatched from a female victim was recovered from him and handed over to her
