The face is exposed to sunlight more than the other parts of the body, these UV rays penetrate the skin layers and stimulate melanin production, resulting in your face being darker than it should.

2. Hormonal Issues Melasma causes your body to increase its estrogen levels. This causes the face to become darker than the other parts of the body. Melasma is usually common among pregnant women and women on oral contraceptive pills, it can also be genetic. The dark facial skin is a result of hormonal changes, which causes the face to produce more skin pigmentation than needed.

3. Reaction To Cosmetic Products Dark faces can also be caused by skincare products. These products might contain harmful chemicals that are harsh to the skin, resulting in darkening of the face.

4. Autoimmune Diseases Diseases like lupus, diabetes, and kidney-related diseases can cause skin discolouration. A few autoimmune diseases can cause inflammation which can change the skin color.

5. Medications Certain medications can cause hyperpigmentation on the face. These drugs result in skin discolouration.
