His first professional career was in the film, and he made his first screen appearance in the 1966 French drama film, ‘Au Hasard Balthazar,’ which means ‘Balthazar, at Random’ in English.

The film, directed by Robert Bresson, was inspired by Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s 1868-69 novel ‘The Idiot.’

After his performance in the film, Walter wasn’t seen on screen again until 2007, where he appeared in the ‘Un jour, un Destin,’ a documentary about his wife’s life.

It marked the last of his acting career. It was later discovered that he had left the world of acting to focus more on his work as a dental surgeon.

In 1976, Walter Green crossed paths with famous French actress Marlène Jobert. Not knowing her status as a celebrity, he fell in love with her and went ahead to invite her on a date, which she obliged too.

According to Marléne, everyone in the restaurant knew who she was aside from Walter, who was too focused on his medical career, that the cinema was of no interest to him.

Nevertheless, the couples stayed together for over forty years with their twin daughters, Eva and Joy Green.
