Samaya Hoover is the daughter of the notorious Chicago gangster and the leader of the street gang, Gangster Disciples.
She was born in Jackson, Mississippi to her father Larry Hoover, and mother Windy Jenkins. Samaya has two other siblings, Tyree and Larry Jr.
Larry Hoover became famous after becoming the leader of the Black Gangster Disciples.
The leadership position of the Black Gangster Disciple became vacant after the sudden death of the former leader David Barksdale.

David Barksdale had died of kidney failure after being shot in the stomach.
The bullet reportedly lacerates his kidney leading to kidney failure which he eventually succumbed to.
Larry Hoover was arrested alongside Andrew Howard, a Black Disciple member for the murder of William “Pooky” Young, A 19-year old drug dealer.
Young was abducted and killed in an alley in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood.
The killer was identified alongside Larry and Andrew and was taken into custody on March 16, 1973. He was charged with murder and sentenced to 150 to 283 years in prison in November 1973.
After his prison sentence, Larry Hoover was incarcerated at the Stateville Correctional Center in Crest Hill, Illinois
During his time at the Stateville Correctional Center, the federal government launched a 17-year undercover investigation in which it was discovered that Larry was engaged in a criminal enterprise.
Indicted of drug conspiracy and extortion and was found guilty on both charges.
After the guilty verdict, Larry was sent to the United States Penitentiary Administrative Maximum Security Facility in Florence, Colorado.
