Although her parents are celebrities, Zulekha choose a different path away from the spotlight, she decided to become a businesswoman, starting from her mother’s company, Iman’s cosmetics. She started as an executive assistant office manager in 2002 and was able to climb up the ladder.
Zulekha became an Account Manager in 2005 and was promoted to the role of senior planning and procurement manager in 2007. After working at her mother’s company for 12 years, she got a job at Jay Manuel Beauty as their project manager and Brand Analyst in 2014.
With her experience at her mother’s company and at Jay Manuel Beauty, Zulekha moved on in 2016 to another company, this time as an inventory Analyst at Portu Sunberg, however, she resigned from Portu Sunberg after 8 months.

Zulekha’s husband is Jason Young. The pair got married in November 2016 in a private ceremony. A few months after their marriage, her family announced that Zulekha gave birth to a daughter in 2017. Her daughter was named Lavinia Rose Young.

Zulekha struggled with obesity growing up, her parents came up with a different idea that they thought could help her lose weight. Her father Spencer was the first to come up with an idea.
He suggested that Zulekha should exercise as much as she eats, but her mother’s idea was different. Her mother thought the “Basta diet” could help her reduce her diet.
Basta is an Italian word that means stop or enough, and whenever she was eating too much, her mother would whisper Basta to remind her to limit the amount of food she was eating.
The diet and exercise reportedly worked at first, but she gained her weight back after some time. At the height of her obesity, Zulekha reportedly weighed 320 pounds.
On her 28th birthday, Zulekha decided to undergo gastric band surgery.
